Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees manages and controls the affairs of the library. They make and adopt bylaws, rules, and policies of the library. They appoint the librarian and they adopt a yearly budget, with the approval of the City Council. The trustees serve without pay for a term of five years and for not more than two terms. Vacancies will be announced on this site, and applications will be solicited at that time. The current Board members are listed below.

  • Don Sprattley, Chairman
  • Amy Watts, Vice-Chairman
  • Sherry Oswald, Treasurer
  • Jean Dillard, Secretary
  • Clarissa Cotton, Public Relations Representative

Lori Sprattley acts as liaison from the City Council.

We are not accepting applications at this time. Board members must be city residents and must be able to commit to a five year term. Meetings are currently held on the fourth Tuesday of the month in the evening. Each board member has a job to do outside the meetings, and members are expected to help with special projects. In additon, we want to find someone who will enthusiastically support and help us move forward with plans for a new library building.

If you are interested, please contact Elaine at the library or any of the Board members. Applications are available at the library.
