Make a Splash - READ!

The Middleton Library needs your help!  We hope you'll "make a big splash" in our community and help plan programs for the children next summer.  "Make a Splash - Read!" is the 2010 theme for Summer Reading, and we need volunteers to study the summer manual and discover new ideas for our programs.  We're forming a steering committee in January and need lots of enthusiastic volunteers!   Some committee members may just want to be involved in planning, and others may also want to participate in the programs.  People who like to plan crafts for children would also be a great asset on our committee.  If you have time and ideas, we'd love to hear from you.

We're also looking for someone who would be willing to plan and/or present programs for teens or middle school students.  We'd love for the youth themselves to help plan - are you someone who'd like to do that?  or know someone who'd be a great planner?

We can also use help with fundraising and with soliticing coupons for prizes.  If publicity is your interest, we can certainly use help in that area, too.

We're also planning to present at least two reading programs during the "Free Lunch in the Park" times.  If you'd like to help with those, please let us know.   This is a great way for teachers to connect with students during the summer, and it's an easy way to help your local library.  You don't have to be a teacher, though, you just have to enjoy the children and be willing to read or tell a story.

Let us know how you'd like to help, and we'll be delighted to find a place for your talents.
